About Harvest Cares
In 2018, Harvesting Scholars launched the Harvest Cares initiative to help combat food insecurity among college students. What began with a few donated pastries, lovingly wrapped and delivered by our team to college students through Panera Bread's Dough-Nation® Program and Red Lobster's Harvest Program, has blossomed into Harvest Cares—a holistic initiative providing food, essential supplies, and encouragement to students pursuing higher education.
As the needs of college students continue to evolve, many young adults face financial hardship due to rising living expenses, changing governmental policies, and unexpected life circumstances. Harvest Cares exists to bridge that gap by supporting students ages 18–25 with essential resources that help them remain focused on earning their degrees.
Today, Harvest Cares extends beyond food assistance by providing care packages, college essentials, gift cards during midterms and finals, emergency basic-need support, and other practical resources that promote student success. Our Suggested Supply List will provide a more comprehensive view. Our goal is to ensure students are not only prepared academically but are also supported holistically, because no student should have to choose between meeting basic needs and pursuing their education.
At Harvesting Scholars, we believe that when students feel supported, they are empowered to succeed. Because college is hard enough and surviving shouldn't be part of the curriculum.

If you’re a current college student who could use a little extra help right now, you may qualify for a grocery gift card minimum value $25.
You’re eligible if you:
✅ Are 18–25 years old
✅ Currently enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year college or university
✅ A recent high school graduate preparing to go away to college.
✅ Could use short-term food support to help you stay focused and finish strong
📌One-time, non-renewable, first-come, first-served, and based on available funds.
